12th PEAK Awards Gala and Fundraising Dinner – Held May 14th, 2009

Over 350 guests attended the 12th Annual PEAK Awards and Gala and Fundraising Dinner presented by Vancity and the Association of Women in Finance on May 14th, 2009.

This fabulous “There’s No Place Like Home” themed evening was hosted by Vicki Gabereau and featured The Right Honourable Kim Campbell as our keynote speaker. Virginia Greene, President and CEO of the Business Council of British Columbia was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Honour. Elizabeth J. Harrison, Q.C., a partner at Farris, Vaughan, Wills & Murphy LLP was presented with the Performance & Excellence Honour. And, Eleanor M. Joy, an Associate Partner, Advisory Services at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP was presented with the Knowledge & Leadership Honour.

Also nominated in the category of Performance & Excellence were Debra Hewson, President and CEO of Odlum Brown Limited and Sue Hutchison, Senior VP, Head of Payments & Cash Management and Commercial E-Business at HSBC Bank Canada.

Also nominated in the category of Knowledge & Leadership were Marilyn Greigm, Senior Manager, Human Resources for BMO Bank of Montreal, BC Division and Janis Sarra, Professor of Law at the University of British Columbia Faculty of Law and founding Director of the National Centre for Business Law.

Through the generous donations of our partners and attendees, the silent auction and raffle portion of the evening raised over $16,000 for our Scholarship Fund.
