PEAK Scholarship Program

An important part of the AWF’s mission is to encourage young women to enter the field of finance. One way we meet our mandate is through our scholarship program. Funds are raised each year at the Annual PEAK Awards Gala and Fundraising Dinner through the generous support of our sponsors and attendees.

With oversight from the AWF Board of Directors, each year the Scholarship Subcommittee allocates the scholarship funds.

Currently, the AWF funds the following annual scholarships:

Douglas College

Five annual awards of $1,000 to female students enrolled in finance related programs at Douglas College. Preference is given to women who meet Minerva’s specific criteria: (a) single mothers who are advancing their education; (b) mature women returning to the workforce after a long absence; (c) women in non-traditional fields of study; or (d) immigrants, aboriginal women, and women with a disability.


Kwantlen Polytechnic University

One annual award of $1,515 to a female student enrolled in the Bachelor of Business Administration Accounting Degree and the Accounting Diploma Program who has a grade point average of 3.0 or greater. Preference is given to a woman who demonstrates financial need, is returning to the work force, or obtaining a second degree/diploma, or a mother with dependents.


UBC Faculty of Law

One annual award of $1,500 to an outstanding student enrolled in the Business Law Concentration in the J.D. program. The award is made on the recommendation of the Faculty of Law.


SFU MBA Program

One annual award of $2,000 to a female graduate student demonstrating excellent academic performance toward a graduate degree in the Faculty of Business Administration, including the Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) and the Master of Financial Risk Management (MFRM) programs. Students must demonstrate past work experience and future work goals relating to the area of Finance.
